HISTORICAL PIONEER SQUARE TOUR
This neighborhood has a colorful history that began right from its earliest beginnings. Pioneer Square was where the early pioneers first settled and began building the city. This neighborhood has seen a major fire that nearly burned the city completely to the ground, the Klondike gold rush boom, the ensuing bust and depression and today a resurgence of life including an emerging culinary scene.
In the Square you’ll find the city’s oldest surviving buildings built in the Renaissance Revival style, numerous art galleries and quirky boutiques. The neighborhood has diverse day and night life. During the day it’s home to a tech rich work force that enjoys the many delicious lunch spots. In the evening the numerous bars open their doors, and welcome sports fans pre and post-game. Nightclubs come to life and even a shot-gun wedding chapel accommodate your every whim.
